New boater here for inboard.boat has 5.0 chev mercru with rochester quadrajet carb. So tried to start it again, it would just sputter and die. Got it home shut it off and started it back up to take a look at it.
Watch It On The Live Data Until The Engine Dies Out, It Should Work To Pull The Revs Back Up But If The Reading Is Stable As The Engine Dies Its A Safe Bet Its Defective.
It started then all of a sudden sputtered then died. I need some help all. #7 · oct 2, 2015.

Engine starts great dies in few seconds as if fuel starved. So tried to start it again, it would just sputter and die. You need to see if the problem is spark or fuel.
Got It Home Shut It Off And Started It Back Up To Take A Look At It.
